Thank you for visiting our website to learn more about Richmond Montessori School and about a Montessori education for your child. Richmond Montessori School offers students two to fourteen a solid academic curriculum and a well-rounded, individualized experience that nurtures an enduring love of learning. Our student body is a broad cross-section of children representing a multitude of diverse countries and cultures, as well as socio-economic and
religious groups. Students come from all parts of Richmond and the surrounding counties.
Richmond Montessori School is one of 100 schools in the United States accredited as an authentic model of excellence in Montessori education by the American Montessori Society (AMS). In addition, RMS is the only Montessori school in the Commonwealth of Virginia accredited by the Virginia Association of Independent Schools (VAIS).
Following the principles of Dr. Maria Montessori, our classes are multi-aged and grouped in three-year spans, with the exception of the toddler and middle school programs. The high quality educational experiences, along with the diverse community furnish the cornerstone for RMS students to succeed in the growing global community, and in life. RMS students are self-motivated, independent, considerate and empowered.
You are invited to join us for a tour of Richmond Montessori School,
submit a tour request to sign-up for upcoming tour dates. Campus tours (for parents only) are held on select Thursday mornings at 9:15 a.m. beginning at the end of September. The tour includes an overview of Richmond Montessori, a classroom visitation allowing you to see students actively engaged in their school day, and a group discussion to address your questions.
