Annual Giving – “Fund for Montessori Excellence”Richmond Montessori School’s Annual fund, the “Fund for Montessori Excellence” (FME), is an annually occurring, organized campaign that serves as the foundation for all fundraising for the school. Each fall the school launches the “Fund for Montessori Excellence” by soliciting trustees, faculty and staff, current parents, grandparents, alumni, and past parents for their participation during a given fiscal year (July 1 – June 30). The “Fund for Montessori Excellence” is the vital difference between what is fundamental and what is exceptional, innovative resources and programming to enhance the RMS experience. Funds raised through the “Fund for Montessori Excellence” support the areas identified in the Strategic Plan and are approved by the Board of Trustees. FME proceeds are used in four distinct areas:
Richmond Montessori School is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization; therefore all contributions to the FME are tax deductible; tax deductions can be applied to the calendar year in which the donation was received. All gifts to the FME are voluntary and a strong indicator of community support and enthusiasm for RMS. Every gift makes a difference and sends a powerful message that the community believes that RMS and our faculty make a world of difference in the lives of our students. Our giving goal is to accomplish 100% family participation in the “Fund for Montessori Excellence”. Whether the gift is great or small, it collectively has a huge impact on the lives of those at RMS. In addition, potential corporate and foundation grant makers look to this as an important measure of any school’s success and sustainability.
