As Richmond Montessori School has needed to grow its facilities to accommodate increased demand for programs and services, it has embarked on targeted Capital Giving campaigns. Because the Board has a commitment to keep an RMS education affordable to a broad constituency, it has utilized capital giving and partnerships with external foundations to support growth. Over the years, there have been several such campaigns, the most recent being the “Eye on the Future” in 2004. The efforts of this campaign were recognized in the opening of a two-story Science building in the fall of 2004. In addition to classroom space, a new open-air student plaza was added. One component of the “Eye On the Future” was a paver campaign, allowing families to display an enduring sign of support for RMS. With the purchase of the 501 N. Parham Road campus in the Fall of 2009, RMS once again plans to embark on a capital campaign to support the merging of the two current campuses. The combined support of generous RMS community donors, as well as the support of external foundations and grants will be solicited in order to achieve this goal. |
