Thank your for choosing RMS to begin your child’s journey into a lifelong love of learning!
True to Maria Montessori’s philosophy, we are dedicated to creating an environment where children can reach their highest potential – academically, physically, emotionally and socially. To do this, we ask for support – at home, in the classroom and as a participant in our many philanthropic and volunteer programs. Richmond Montessori School funds the basic operation of the school through tuition but that doesn’t cover the cost of a Montessori education at its core. We believe that with your support we can create an environment that will continue to make a world of difference in the life of our children for years to come.
RMS Annual Fund – Funding for Today’s Students
The annual fund provides funding for projects and programs that are beyond the scope of our tuition income. Contributions to the annual fund:
- Enhance the classroom environment to ensure that each child’s unique educational needs are met and that students continue to reach their highest potential;
- Offer training and professional development for our faculty and staff to keep them challenged and growing as educators;
- Provide specialty programming in areas like STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), and the visual and performing arts to ensure that classroom experiences are as unique as the Montessori classroom experience; and
- Enable the school to provide access to a Montessori education through tuition assistance.
Specific programs underwritten just this year include: Classroom supplies, supplies for our athletics teams, theater performances (Oliver, the Royal Harpist, Theatre IV performances on campus), playground enhancements, an external emergency broadcasting system, speakers like Angeline Lillard (author), movies like Beyond Measure (film on the state of education) and American Montessori Society training and credentialing for faculty.
Pledges and gifts can be made to RMS during our fiscal year, which runs from July 1- June 30. Gifts to the annual fund are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
