Parents' Association (RMPA) |

| 1965 – RMS Founded in April |
| 1966 – RMS opens at 210 South Boulevard to 40 students on September 19th |
| 1967 – RMS adds classroom space at 2619 Floyd Avenue |
| 1972 – Richmond Montessori Parents’ Association (RMPA) is formed |
| 1973 – Groundbreaking held at North Parham Road site |
| 1976 – The manatee was chosen as the school mascot |
| 1982 – On-site after school care begins |
| 1983 – AMS accredited VCU-Montessori Teachers Education Program begins at RMS |
| 1989 – RMS pupils send “friendship boxes” to earthquake stricken San Francisco students |
| 1990 – AMS accreditation received by RMS, one of only 11 schools nationally accredited |
| 1993 – RMS recognized as one of the best preschools in America by “Child Magazine” |
| 1996 – Long Range Plan adopted and new facilities construction begins |
| 1998 – New administration, classroom and multi-purpose facilities dedicated |
| 2000 – Capital Campaign exceeds $500,000 goal |
| 2004 – New Science Resource and classroom facilities are dedicated |
