Our Middle School students benefit from a rigorous academic curriculum presented within a supportive, close-knit community. Students learn collaboratively, forging strong bonds while enhancing their intellectual and social development. Pre-algrebra, algebra, science, language arts and Spanish are taught according to grade level. All Middle School students participate together in humanities, technology/media resources, visual/performing arts, music, and physical education. As part of their economics studies, students actually manage a small business. The Middle School program is enhanced by the use of technology, textbooks, Socratic discussions, mini-courses, field studies, community service projects and test taking in core subjects. Richmond Montessori School graduates advance to private high schools, Governor’s schools and specialty centers at public high schools throughout the Greater Richmond area, where they are praised as confident, intelligent and independent thinkers who are self-motivated, compassionate and highly respectful of others. Our Middle School program is co-ed and consists of two grade levels.
