Montessori Enrichment Programs

Montessori Enrichment Programs include Montessori Afternoons, the After School Program and Summer Enrichment. An important service to the RMS community, these programs offer an extension of the Richmond Montessori School experience that include special interests, games, socialization, sports and fun – all in a caring Montessori atmosphere. Ratios of staff to children, the physical buildings and playgrounds, staff training, and daily operations are monitored to provide the best environment for a child’s care, guidance, and protection.

Montessori Afternoons and summer specialty camps are licensed to operate by the Virginia Department of Social Services, and comply with all licensing standards for a child day center.

Montessori Enrichment Staff

Our staff is highly qualified and professional. Some are Montessori credentialed teachers, while others bring a rich variety of experience as educators. Many staff members teach in Montessori classrooms, and extend their work day alongside the children. Each staff member carries out the Montessori philosophy of respect for the child while helping all children become independent learners. With their variety of education and special interests, our staff brings diversity and expertise to their daily planning and activities. The Montessori Enrichment staff also works closely with the Montessori classroom teachers to ensure consistency throughout the child’s day. Teachers for the After School Program and Summer Specialty Camps are hired for their knowledge in a particular field, and their experience and enthusiasm working with children.
