ME Teacher
What’s something you love seeing students get excited about?
Celebrating their friends, the adults in their lives, and themselves.
I told my students we’d be making a birthday card for my co-teacher while she was out of town. One of them suggested, “We should sing her ‘Happy Birthday’ when she gets back!” I said maybe, knowing that coordinating it all might be a challenge.
The next day, I sat down on the carpet and whispered that we would start singing as soon as she sat down. The look on his face in that moment was pure excitement. It’s these little moments, when children feel heard and see their ideas come to life, that make teaching so fulfilling
If you could bring back one trend from your childhood, what would it be?
Silly bandz and trading them! All the new things they like now makes me feel old
