What’s one thing about working with children that continues to surprise you?

It's amazing to see how much children grow in their understanding and character in such a short period of time.  There is always work happening under the surface, and when it emerges, we get to say to them, "You did it!"

If you could have dinner with any fictional character, who would you invite?

If I could have dinner with a fictional character, I would invite Marmee March from "Little Women."  She is a kind and patient mother and wife who experiences great joys and great sorrows alongside her family.  All the while, she is loving and serving others even when it is of great inconvenience to herself and her family.  I would love to hear her share what she did daily to care for her heart and those of her four daughters

If you could instantly become an expert at one skill, what would it be

I am trying to learn how to make bread.  It takes more work than I expect, so I rarely make time for it.  If I could become an expert, I would have fresh bread for my family, daily
