What is your favorite thing about RMS?
I love the Staculty and the feeling of community and fun I get when I am around them.
What’s your favorite part of a school day?
My favorite part of the school day is giving lessons and coming together for group time. I love those moments when I can connect with the children, introduce them to something new, and watch their curiosity come alive. Group time is especially meaningful because it gives us a chance to come together as a community, share, learn, and enjoy one another.
What’s one Montessori principle that really resonates with you?
The principle that resonates with me most is the idea of the prepared adult. Montessori reminds us that our work is not only to prepare the environment for the child, but also to continually prepare ourselves. There is a spiritual transformation that happens within the adult as we become more conscious, patient, and nurturing figures in a child’s life. I love that Montessori asks us to look inward and grow alongside the children we serve.
What’s something you’ve learned from your students?
My students have taught me to be present in the moment, not take life so seriously and laugh more, especially at myself.
