Care Beyond the Classroom
Extended Day Programs are an important service to the Richmond Montessori School community, providing care for our students before and after regular school hours. A welcoming atmosphere, coupled with the guidance of our nurturing staff, provides the structure for each child’s care, guidance and safety. We offer a fascinating world complete with special activities, games, socialization, puzzles, art, music and so much more.
Extended Day Programs are available as an option with your enrollment contract. Please visit Tuition and Fees for more information.
Drop-in visits are available by reservation only through the Director of Montessori Enrichment. Please contact Director of Montessori Enrichment Darlene Marschak, at 804-741-0040 ext. 24 or at email@example.com with your reservation request.
Drop-rates are: Early Arrival ($8/visit); Nap/Rest ($27/visit); Early Childhood Extended Day ($27/visit); School Age Afterschool Clubs Package ($27/visit); Holiday Package ($100/visit).
Children (all ages) are escorted to their classrooms when school opens.
11:45 a.m. – 3:05 p.m.
A quiet social lunch is followed by nap (18 months through 3-year-olds) or rest (4-year-olds). Nappers and Resters enjoy group and outdoor time when they wake up.
The Falcon Club is a yearlong, afternoon program open to second-year, half-day primary students. The Falcon Club offers an extension to the primary cultural curriculum by featuring rotating daily clubs until 3:10 p.m. The clubs include social studies, history, geography, life sciences, cooking and baking, grace and courtesy, and more.
Early Childhood Extended Day
3:05 – 5:00 p.m. Available to all toddlers
3:05-6:00 p.m. Available to potty-trained toddlers and all primary (ages 3-4)
Toddlers and primary (ages 3-4) students enjoy a nutritious snack, special projects, stories, free choice works, and outdoor play. A continuously changing assortment of activities and themes keeps the children engaged and learning.
School-Age After-School Clubs Package
3:05 – 6:00 p.m.
School-age children (Ages 5 and up) are released from Montessori Enrichment to an extracurricular clubs package, including Carousel Club, the Hub, and Friday Fun Club (see descriptions below). Activities are appropriate to age.
Our new creative spin on this club provides rotating specialities, activities, and themes that promote learning disguised as fun–without sacrificing freedom of choice and social interaction in true Montessori style.
The Hub continues to provide quiet time for older students to complete homework assignments, work on research or study. Creativity, community, and special interests drive the structure of activities once school work is completed. Students are challenged to engage in specialties, long-term projects and meaningful work that compliments their Montessori education.
Friday Fun Club
Friday Fun Club continues to offer unique projects, themed days, out-of-the-box games, creative activities and, as always, loads of wacky fun!
At 5:00 p.m., school-age students join the licensed extended day program at the house for playground time and quiet end-of-the-day activities before pick-up.
8:10 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
Montessori Enrichment offers care on 12 of the days that school is closed. Our staff plans fun themed activities and projects. Usual routines for Nap/Rest apply.
Montessori Enrichment closes promptly at 6:00 p.m.
