Hickory Nut Gap Farm
Two weeks ago, the middle school traveled to Asheville, NC for a five-day field study at Hickory Nut Gap Farm. They spent the week living and working together as a community on the farm while learning about current issues around agriculture and the modern food industry. They held seminars, prepared meals, collected and packaged eggs, weeded orchards, groomed and cared for horses, and completed other tasks around the farm. Find more photos from this trip here.
