Frequently Asked Questions
What is Montessori Enrichment?
Montessori Enrichment (ME) provides restorative, fun, and engaging afternoon programs following the academic Montessori morning. Children enjoy lunch, rest, outdoor play, classroom activities, and opportunities to build friendships in a familiar, supportive environment. ME also offers enriching after-school activities, including ballet, sports, art, yoga, and music.
What does a typical afternoon look like?
After the academic morning, children transition to their designated lunch-and-nap or rest classroom, which remains the same throughout the year to provide consistency and security. Children enjoy lunch with familiar classmates and peers from another classroom, followed by a nap or quiet rest in a calm, restorative environment with dim lighting and soothing music. After rest time, children put away their bedding and participate in additional classroom activities and outdoor play.
How do families communicate with Montessori Enrichment teachers?
Montessori Enrichment also uses ParentSquare, so families can find after-school updates, announcements, and important information in the same place they receive communication from their child’s lead teacher.
Is the program licensed?
Yes. Our Montessori Enrichment program is licensed by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) and is required to meet all state licensing requirements for health, safety, and quality care.
Do you provide lunch?
Families provide lunch and an afternoon snack each day. In accordance with our licensing standards, all meals and snacks should follow USDA and CDC nutrition guidelines.
