Richmond Montessori Parent's Association
At Richmond Montessori School, community extends beyond the classroom. The Richmond Montessori Parents Association (RMPA) helps bring our students, families, and staculty together through events, traditions, service, and opportunities to connect throughout the school year.
Whether you're new to RMS or have been part of our community for years, RMPA offers meaningful ways to meet other families, get involved, and help make RMS an even more connected place.

What the RMPA Does
The RMPA supports and enhances school life in several key ways:
Community-Building Events
The RMPA helps plan and host beloved RMS traditions—such as HarvestFest, Winterfest, cultural celebrations, book fairs, parent socials, and more. These events are designed for families to connect, have fun, and feel part of the RMS community.
Family Support & Connection
Room Parents and volunteers help welcome new families, share helpful reminders or class-specific updates, and build relationships within each classroom community.
Volunteer Opportunities
From helping at school events to organizing service projects or supporting teachers, the RMPA offers flexible, optional ways to get involved. There is no minimum requirement—families are encouraged to participate in ways that suit their schedules and interests.
Enhancing Student & Teacher Experience
With funds raised through events and donations, the RMPA supports classroom needs, teacher appreciation initiatives, and student activities that enrich the Montessori experience.
How Families Can Participate
Participation is truly as simple as being part of our school community, but if you’d like to get more involved, here are some easy options:

- Volunteer for a single event or ongoing role
- Help with your child’s classroom through Room Parent communications
- Support community events or school initiatives when you’re able
