Learning at Richmond montessori school
Nurturing Every Child's Potential
Across every RMS program, the goal extends beyond what students know to who they become. From Toddler through Middle School, students grow into confident and capable learners, critical thinkers, creative problem-solvers, thoughtful collaborators, and empathetic members of their communities, with the depth of understanding and joy of learning to carry them far beyond RMS.
The Outcome of an RMS Education
The independence nurtured throughout the RMS journey becomes something students can confidently put into practice. They learn to manage their time, advocate for themselves, collaborate with others, solve problems, and take ownership of their academic work.
By the time students leave RMS, they are prepared for high school with more than academic knowledge. They know how to learn, how to manage themselves, and how to confidently navigate what comes next.
The Three Year Cycle
The three-year learning cycle is at the heart of the Montessori approach. By remaining with the same learning community over multiple years, students experience stability and belonging, while teachers gain a deep understanding of each child’s growth. This continuity fosters supportive, collaborative, and trusting relationships among teachers, students, and parents, nurturing both academic and personal development.
