Kalyn Gerrity earned her bachelor’s degree and Virginia state teaching license from the University of Richmond in 2015.She will complete her Montessori Elementary I&II teaching certificate in July 2018. Kalyn is Orton Gillingham certified since 2012. Her background includes four years as Richmond Montessori School (RMS), lower elementary assistant, three years as coordinator for the RMS hub working with upper elementary and middle school students, three years as an Orton Gillingham tutor for students aged 5-12 with language differences in reading and writing and one semester student teaching in both kindergarten and 4th grade in Hanover County Public Schools. Prior to joining RMS, Kalyn worked with the Richmond City Public School district as a research assistant with the Clark Hill Child Psychology Institute at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). As a research assistant in the VCU School of Education, Kalyn also worked with Henrico County Public Schools. Kalyn enjoys reading, being outdoors, and spending time with her husband. She is passionate about education and looks forward to a year of growth and development with her students.
