Gráinne Murray was appointed Head of School at Richmond Montessori School in 2014 after fifteen years of service at the school, beginning as a pre-school assistant teacher. She taught for eight years and joined the administrative leadership team in 2009 as Director of Admissions and later Assistant Head of School. Gráinne is a passionate Montessori educator, having earned her Early Childhood Education Certificate from The Princeton Center for Montessori Education in 2003. She graduated with a Master of Educational Leadership & Policy Studies from the University of Richmond in December 2019. Gráinne earned her Bachelor of Science from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, and emigrated to America in 1997. She believes in service to the school as well as the larger community and is proud of her work with ReEstablish Richmond, Blessing Warriors RVA, the American Montessori Society, and the Virginia Association of Independent Schools.
