Mary has taught for 20 years at independent schools in the Richmond area. In the summer of 2019, she completed the Montessori secondary training and graduated from the University of Richmond with an M.Ed. in Leadership and Policy Studies. She has four grown children, and now that they have all moved out of the house and on with their own lives, she likes to spend her free time teaching and practicing hot yoga, and reading all she can. Her husband, Dean, is professor of Classical Studies at the University of Richmond; they enjoy having nerdy discussions about language, grammar and usage, and the changing world of spoken languages in the US.
Mary has a particular interest in young adult literature, and in issues around teen depression and anxiety.
