The Richmond Montessori School Alumni Association strives to serve its members and to advance lifelong love of learning, responsible citizenship, and personal integrity. The Association will encourage its members to support and promote the School; it will work to create a community of trust and respect that values lifelong relationships and shared experiences; and it will foster open communication, cooperation, and involvement among all people connected to RMS.
Lauren Wright is a RMS graduate of the Class of 2002. She is a Virginia Tech Undergrad and has her MBA as well as a Masters in Mechanical & Nuclear Engineering from VCU. Currently, Lauren works as a Mechanical Engineer for the U.S. Army facilitating the sustainability of rotary craft and is a part of the design and innovation team from concept to refinement of aircraft rotary modernization. She spends her weekends as a student pilot working to become a commercial certified pilot.
Lauren is a Founding Member of the Alumni Association and Alumni Executive Committee. She currently serves as Vice President of the Alumni Executive Committee and Chair of Alumni Giving on the RMS Advancement Executive Committee. Lauren loves being a part of the RMS community again and helping to create lasting memories for students and alumni.
Jasmine Turner was born and raised in Richmond Virginia. She graduated from Richmond Montessori School in 2007, went on to the The Collegiate School and graduated in 2011. Her college years were spent at Elon University, where she graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. Jasmine is an Emmy-award winning reporter and anchor for NBC 12 News. She joined the team in October 2016. Jasmine enjoys serving others, as a member of volunteer boards, speaking to students and school groups and hosting events, She loves to learn more about the people who make the Commonwealth of Virginia a great place to live, work and thrive. Jasmine has served on the RMS alumni board since 2017. Outside of work, she is also a 200 hour certified yoga teacher and teaches indoor cycling classes at Flow Cycle in Short Pump. Jasmine loves the community as well as spending time with loved ones, her husband Marcelus, bonus daughter Aubrey, and their rescue dog Libbie!
Jessica Wilburn started at Richmond Montessori School in the toddler program and continued through 8th grade, graduating in 2011. After RMS, she attended Trinity Episcopal School where she completed the International Baccalaureate program. Jessica attended the University of Virginia for undergrad, where she double majored in Economics and Media Studies.
These days, Jessica works as a Digital Marketing Operations Specialist at EAB in Richmond, VA. Through her role, she is able to combine her passion for both education and marketing as she executes marketing campaigns for colleges across the nation. In her spare time, Jessica likes to volunteer at the local animal shelter and stays active by taking Zumba classes.
Kerry Burke is a 1999 graduate of Richmond Montessori School and currently is the General Counsel for The Nexxus Marketing Group, LLC, a small technology company located in Beverly, MA. In 2015, he graduated from New England Law Boston. Prior to law school, he spent four years as an Assistant Dean of Admissions at his alma mater, Hampden- Sydney College, recruiting for Hampden-Sydney in Mechanicsville, Maryland and the majority of the Northeast.
Kerry spent his spare time as a volunteer assistant coach for the Hampden-Sydney men’s soccer team. While at Hampden-Sydney, Kerry earned his B.A. in Political Science and History, was a Patrick Henry Scholar, a four-year starter on the soccer team, and during his senior year of college, he was one of the tri-captains. Kerry loves working with his fellow alumni as a founding member of the alumni board to build a strong RMS community for years to come.
Maggie Stokes attended Richmond Montessori School from P1 to 8th grade. After graduating in 2007, Maggie went on to Trinity Episcopal School and then matriculated to the University of Virginia where she studied studio art with a concentration in painting. Maggie remained in Charlottesville after finishing UVA in 2015, and now she works in nonprofit advancement at the environmental advocacy organization, Appalachian Voices. Outside of work, she enjoys painting, listening to live music, traveling, practicing yoga, and spending time with her family and two dogs Korra and Sierra. She is excited to be a part of the RMS Alumni Board and reconnecting with all of her old friends!
After graduating from RMS in 2007, Jabria Craft attended St. Catherine's School (2011 grad) and then studied Kinesiology and Psychology at William & Mary, graduating in 2015. She then went on to get her Master’s degree in Higher Education, finishing in 2018 and now manages a living-learning community at W&M. Jabria is currently back living in Richmond, VA and is enjoying getting reacquainted with the city. It is amazing how big of a role RMS played in her life-Jabria truly attributes many of her leadership and interpersonal skills to the Montessori pedagogy, including her ability to multitask, self-start, and think outside the box for a solution. Jabria made friends at RMS that have lasted her lifetime—she was even Jasmine Turner's maid of honor in her wedding! The love and support she experienced at RMS has been unparalleled. Montessori was Jabria’s home away from home for 11 years and she is really enjoying reconnecting with her RMS family!
Adrian Ciucci started at RMS in 1997 in Gary Flake's 4th grade class. Finishing 8th grade in 2001, Adrian went on to Trinity Episcopal School and then to The University of Montana in Missoula where he studied music with focus on classical guitar performance. After college Adrian founded the Richmond based rock band called "The Southern Belles" and spent 10 years writing, recording and touring with the band all over the country. Adrian now lives in Northside Richmond in the Bellevue neighborhood with his wife Shannon Ciucci (who now works in Lower Elementary at RMS) and their beagle "Bowie''. Adrian has developed a quieter career in contracting in the Richmond area. Adrian is also a founding executive board member of the RMS Alumni Association where he serves as Vice President.
