Endowments give our school a solid foundation for the future and support current programs and projects. Consider making a gift that lasts by contributing to one of our six endowment funds.
STUDENT SUPPORT
Della Mae Reese Jefferson Scholarship Fund
The Della Mae Reese Jefferson Scholarship Fund was established in 2003 in honor of the mother of former RMS teacher, coach, and mentor, Felecia Jefferson. Because Della Mae would often tell her children to “care about others,” the fund was created by an initial gift from Felecia and her siblings. It supports students who have demonstrated financial need.
The Wise Family Endowment
Established in 2015 through a major gift from RMS parents, Marc and Laurel Wise, this endowment is utilized to fund financial aid for students.
Martha Mabey Endowment for the Arts Fund
The Martha Mabey Endowment for the Arts Fund was established in 1996 to honor former three-time Head of School, Dr. Martha Mabey, Emeritus. The endowment supports the arts and art engagement for all RMS students throughout the school year. Part of the endowment fund also includes a $500 scholarship that is awarded at graduation to a current RMS Middle School student for pursuit of visual, literary, and performing arts study.
CAMPUS AND FACULTY SUPPORT
Training Educators and More (TEAM) Endowment
Established in 2004 through a major gift from RMS parents, Jim and Estelle Brodeur, this endowment funds professional development opportunities for RMS staff and faculty.
Capital Facility Endowment
Established in 2012 through a major gift from RMS grandparent Ben Humphreys, Sr., this fund ensures the upkeep of our facilities.
The RMS General Endowment
Established in 2016, this general fund equals .5% of RMS’s total unrestricted operating expenses. RMS will incrementally increase that percentage amount over the next 3 to 5 years to get the amount funded through operations to 1% of operating expenses annually.
